Data Sources
Where the statistics come from
Our analysis uses public cricket statistics, mainly from ESPNcricinfo (including its Statsguru database). The calculations, adjustments, rankings and conclusions are our own work.
What we publish, and what we do not
- We publish our results, charts and explanations, with credit to the data source.
- We do not republish ESPNcricinfo’s raw tables, full datasets or their original text. If you need the underlying records, use the source site.
- When an article discusses a list published by someone else (for example a Wisden or ESPNcricinfo all-time XI), we say so clearly and link to the original where possible. That list is theirs; the analysis of it is ours.
Method notes
Each article describes the method it uses, such as how eras are adjusted and what minimum innings or matches are required. If we change a method, we say so and note it on the article.
